Ethiopian Airlines Has Achieved the Goal Set in its 2025 Vision Regarding Increasing Aircraft and Expanding Destinations announces CEO Mesfin Tasew.
It is recalled that Ethiopian Airlines announced it will build the largest airport in Africa in four years.
According to the 2024 report of the African Airlines Association, Cairo International Airport in Egypt is the leading airport in Africa, having handled 6 million passengers in the first quarter.
According to the report, O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Bole International Airport hold the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in the same order.
It is also recalled that Ethiopian Airlines had set a goal in 2010 to reach an annual revenue of 10 billion USD starting from the current year 2025.
The BBC's Focus on Africa program asked the airline's CEO, Mesfin Tasew, about the airline's current status in achieving these large goals it has set.
In his response, Mesfin stated that Ethiopian Airlines achieved an annual revenue of 7 billion USD in the 2023/24 fiscal year and will achieve an annual revenue of 8 billion USD in the current fiscal year until next June.
The CEO also stated that the airline has achieved the goal it set in its 2025 vision regarding increasing aircraft and expanding destinations.
