Finance Minister Ahmed Shide said the macroeconomic reforms being implemented have created a favorable environment for the industrial sector.
The minister said the remark during a session when the leaders and staff of the Ministry of Industry reviewed the nine-month performance.
He recalled that it has been nine months since the macroeconomic reforms were fully implemented.
He said that the decision to make foreign exchange market-based is a major decision and has increased the production capacity of the manufacturing industry.
The industry plays a significant role in earning foreign exchange by producing value-added products on a large scale, Ahmed added.
He said that Ethiopia has a large market opportunity and that it is necessary to work hard to make more use of the opportunity to provide quality and abundant products to Africa and other countries.
Minister Ahmed further stated that the macroeconomic reforms have created a favorable environment for the manufacturing industry and attracted foreign investment.
