The National Movement of Amhara (NaMA)has held its 3rd regular congress with enthusiasm and appointed Belete Mola (Dr.) as the party chairman and Melkamu Tsegaye as the deputy chairman.
The organization held its 3rd organizational congress in Addis Ababa on April 6, 2025, and passed various resolutions.

The ABN Chairman, Belete Mola (Dr.), who opened the congress with a speech, recalled the challenges the organization has faced since its establishment, the struggles undertaken, and the victories achieved.
The Chairman highlighted the movement created by his organization, which addresses the structural questions of the Amhara people, as a great success, while also detailing the challenges they faced from both within and outside.
In his speech, Dr. Belete mentioned that the main problem among the challenges was the June 22, 2019 E.C. incident, which he said cast a dark shadow on the unity of the Amhara people's struggle. He also stated that internally, the organization was severely tested due to the leadership and members not developing a relationship based on listening to and respecting each other.
He further emphasized a message to the congress attendees and all Amhara elites, stressing the need to learn from past problems, believe in differing opinions, discuss and debate differences in a civilized manner, and above all, respect and listen to each other.
He also made a call for peace, saying, "Whether it is the government or our armed brothers, they should sit around the table and talk to give a political solution to the conflict" in order to stop the suffering of the region's people.
The congress listened to and approved the organization's report. Subsequently, it appointed Dr. Ayalew Talema as the chairperson to lead the organization's control commission for the upcoming term, and also made appointments for the deputy chairperson and members. The congress approved the organization's 40 permanent and 5 alternate central committee members.
