He indicated that there is vast opportunity for Algerian companies working in energy to participate in the Ethiopian power development sector, extending invitation for Algerian companies to participate in international tenders in the energy sector in Ethiopia.
The Algerian Minister Mohamed Arkab, on his part, said that Algerian companies such as Sonelgaz and Sonatrach, which produce power generation, power distribution and essential inputs for power distribution, are interested in engaging in Ethiopia.
Minister Mohamed Arkab added that there will be opportunities for Ethiopian energy professionals to build their capacities in Algeria in the energy capacity building sector.
It was mentioned that a working group will be formed to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries by preparing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Water and Energy, Ethiopian Electric Power, Ethiopian Electric Service and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
