New Blue Fiber Board Factory to Boost Local Economy

In a significant move for economic development, Endeshaw Tassew (PhD), the Head of the Central Ethiopia Regional State, has officially laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Blue Fiber Board Factory in Bui town, East Gurage zone. This ambitious project, with an investment of 5 billion birr, is set to transform the local economy and create substantial job opportunities.

Spanning an impressive 17,304 hectares, the factory aims to produce a staggering 150,000 cubic meters of wood products annually, catering to both local and international markets.

Upon its completion, it is expected to provide employment for approximately 1,000 residents, offering a much-needed boost to the region’s job market.

Following the ceremony, Endeshaw toured existing chipboard factories established by the Ethiopian Tamert Movement, highlighting the government's commitment to fostering industrial growth.

The event was attended by senior regional officials, underscoring the importance of this project in advancing economic development and sustainability in Central Ethiopia.
