Addis Ababa Expands Free Meal Program with Two New Feeding Centers

Demonstrating a continued commitment to the well-being of its residents, the Addis Ababa City Administration have seen a significant expansion with the inauguration of two new feeding centers over the weekend.

Mayor Adanech Abiebie officially opened the 25th and 26th Tesfa Birhan Feeding Centers, reinforcing the city administration's commitment to providing free daily meals to those in need.

These latest additions are integral to an initiative launched in 2021, aimed at establishing a network of feeding centers across the capital to serve economically poor and disadvantaged individuals. The Tesfa Birhan centers offer a vital source of sustenance for many who struggle to afford daily meals.

The realization of these two new centers was a collaborative effort, made possible by the support of Ayat Share Company and the Ethiopian Customs Commission. During the inauguration, Mayor Adanech Abiebie acknowledged and thanked these partners for their valuable assistance, urging other organizations and individuals to contribute to this crucial social program.

The city administration's initiative to expand feeding centers in partnership with various stakeholders underscores a dedication to improving food security and the well-being of all residents in Addis Ababa, ENA reported.
