High-Level Talks in Vietnam Solidify Ethiopia's International Engagement

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has concluded an official visit to Vietnam, marked by discussions on political party matters, national development, governance, and the strengthening of bilateral relations.

According to a tweet from the Prime Minister's office, a key engagement during the visit was a courtesy call paid by Prime Minister Abiy to the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam at the Party Central Committee Office. During this meeting, both sides engaged in an exchange of views on various political party matters and shared their perspectives on national development and governance.

Following this meeting and other engagements, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed expressed his sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the warm welcome and gracious hospitality extended throughout his official visit.

 

 

In a series of tweets, Prime Minister Abiy highlighted the shared commonalities between Ethiopia and Vietnam, noting that both nations are developing countries with large and dynamic youth populations. He emphasized their mutual commitment to economic growth and a shared proud history of resilience.

Prime Minister Abiy described the discussions held as "engaging and in-depth," reflecting a shared commitment to mutual growth and cooperation. He stated that these deliberations have successfully "paved the way for strengthened political, diplomatic, and economic ties" between the two countries.

Looking to the future, Prime Minister Abiy announced that he looks forward to welcoming Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính to Ethiopia in the near future. He believes this upcoming visit will further solidify their joint vision for deepened bilateral relations within the current global context. This exchange of high-level visits underscores the growing partnership and shared aspirations between Ethiopia and Vietnam.
