Speaking at the 129th anniversary celebration of the Adwa Victory, President Taye emphasized that the spirit of Adwa remains a guiding light for Ethiopia’s unity, development, and resilience.

The 129th anniversary of the Adwa Victory is being commemorated with various events at the Adwa Memorial Museum, honoring the battle’s enduring significance. President Taye, who attended the celebrations as a guest of honor, highlighted that Adwa stands as a symbol of hope and resilience not only for Ethiopians but for all Africans and people of African descent worldwide.

In his address, the President noted that the Adwa Victory was a pivotal moment that restored the dignity of Africans and Black people globally, shattering the myth of colonial invincibility. “The victory at Adwa was not just a military triumph; it was a demonstration of Ethiopia’s national heroism and, in particular, the remarkable political acumen and active participation of women,” he said.President Taye further reflected on the historical significance of Adwa, describing it as a testament to the power of knowledge, strategic thinking, and unity. “The Adwa Victory was rooted in the strength of wisdom and the supremacy of ideas,” he remarked, adding that its lessons remain relevant today as Ethiopians continue to draw inspiration from it.
