Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has said that unity, not division, will help Africa achieve its full potential.
The Prime Minister delivered the opening speech at the 38th African Union Summit.
In his speech, he stressed the need for unity as he addressed the heads of states gathered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for the AU summit.
He also stressed the need for Africans to strengthen their unity to ensure sustainable development in the evolving world order.
He said that regional tensions, historical divisions and a common vision should be resolved to ensure peace and development on the continent.
The Assembly opened earlier today in the presence of several leaders of African countries, and heads of international organizations.
The summit is expected to consider and make strategic decisions of global significance on various political and socio-economic areas to promote and advance the welfare and quality of life for the African citizenry.
