Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has conducted an on-the-ground inspection of spring wheat cultivation in the fertile lowlands of East Hararge today.
This visit underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing food security and improving the livelihoods of farmers across the nation.
During his inspection, the Prime Minister engaged with local farmers, emphasizing the importance of hard work and innovation in agriculture.
“If we can work hard, work hard and see, Ethiopia can go beyond understanding and help others,” he stated in a message shared on his social media platforms.
His words resonated with the farmers, who expressed optimism about the potential yield from this season's crops.

The East Hararge region, known for its rich soil and favorable climate, has been a focal point for agricultural initiatives aimed at self-sufficiency.
As Ethiopia faces challenges related to food production, Premier Abiy’s visit serves as a rallying call for collective effort and determination in transforming the agricultural landscape.
It noted that, with government support and community engagement, Ethiopia aims to not only feed its population but also position itself as a key player in regional food production.
