Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH) has announced the appointment of Getu Geremew as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Ethiopian Electric Utility (EEU), replacing Shiferaw Telila. This leadership change is part of a broader effort by EIH to improve the efficiency, accountability, and reliability of state-owned enterprises (SOEs).
The EEU plays a vital role in Ethiopia's infrastructure and socio-economic development. EIH's goal is to enhance power supply stability, boost operational effectiveness, and increase transparency within the organization through this strategic leadership transition.
"EIH is committed to strengthening the EEU's infrastructure and operational efficiency to secure a zero-power disruption future for Ethiopia," the company said in a statement. This appointment reflects EIH's ongoing commitment to reforming and strengthening its portfolio companies to ensure long-term sustainability and alignment with national development goals, FBC learnt.
