Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has met with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune today to fortify the longstanding ties between their nations.
The bilateral discussions, held in Addis Ababa, focused on enhancing collaboration and reaffirming their shared commitment to Pan-African unity and regional stability.
Prime Minister Abiy highlighted the historical solidarity that underpins Ethiopia-Algeria relations, pointing to their mutual interests in fostering peace, security, and development across Africa. “Ethiopia and Algeria share strong diplomatic ties, rooted in historical solidarity, Pan-Africanism, and mutual interests in regional stability,” he stated on his social media platform after the meeting.
The two leaders deliberated on a range of issues, including economic cooperation, trade partnerships, and collaborative security initiatives aimed at addressing common challenges on the continent.
With Africa facing numerous crises, including political instability and socio-economic adversities, both leaders underscored the importance of unity in confronting these challenges through joint efforts.
