Office of the Prime Minister says urban corridor development enhances economic opportunities and livability.
"Under Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s direction, Ethiopia is transforming its cities through urban corridor development, enhancing mobility, economic opportunities, and livability."
The investments made through corridor development are human-centered, the office said on a social media post Thursday morning. "Investments in roads, walkways, and lighting are fostering human-centered, walkable communities that integrate housing, businesses, and green spaces while balancing modern infrastructure with sustainability."
As hub cities expand, integrated urban planning will be key to shaping resilient, productive, and livable urban spaces for the future, it added.
The corridor development effort will continue in both urban and rural Ethiopia the office announced.
