Ethiopia, EU Pledge To Advance Bilateral Cooperation

Ethiopia and the European Union  member  states  have held their second Structured Dialogue earlier today where they discussed their mutual interests.

Minister of Foreign Affairs  of Ethiopia  Gedion Timothewos met with the EU delegation headed by Ambassador Sofie From-Emmesberger, the EU representative to Ethiopia.

21 Ambassadors and heads of mission from EU member states were also in attendance, according to reports.

The parties picked three key areas for exchanges including ensuring regional peace, stability, economic development, trade, and of course cooperation in multilateral frameworks.

They also  renewed  their commitment to deepen bilateral relations and intensify cooperation, building on the outcomes of the first Structured Dialogue held in December 2023.

Ethiopia-EU relations are further strengthened by ongoing financial and trade programs, including the EU Multi-Annual Indicative Program for Ethiopia, bilateral initiatives by individual EU Member States, and the “Everything But Arms” trade regime.
