More than 79,000 Ethiopians have returned to their home country from Saudi Arabia over the past five months, the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs has announced.
The ministry reported that returning citizens have been receiving the necessary support and care at airports and shelters, facilitating their reunion with their families.
It was also noted that 395 Ethiopians who were in dire conditions in Saudi Arabia were repatriated yesterday. Among them, 328 were men, 56 were women, and 11 were infants. Additionally, nine of the returnees were unaccompanied minors under the age of 18.
Since the repatriation process began on April 12, 2024, more than 79,400 Ethiopians have returned home, according to data from the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs.
