Ethiopia's 'Five Million Coders' Initiative Celebrates First 180,000 Graduates

The Ministry of Innovation and Technology has announced that 180,000 citizens have completed the Five Million Ethiopians Coders training and received certificates.

The ministry also announced that more than 580,000 citizens are currently participating in the Five Million Ethiopians Coders training nationwide.

The program is a collaborative project for digital job skills development implemented with the support of the Ethiopian government and the United Arab Emirates.

It was also stated that the project is being implemented under the motto "Generation learns, generation trains, competes with the world" with the aim of enabling citizens to develop their technological knowledge and become globally competitive and qualified.

State Minister for ICT and Digital Economy at the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, Dr. Yishurun Alemayehu, stated that the training enables the building of digital skills.

According to ENA, the minster emphasized that other regions should work diligently to make the training successful, and stated that the ministry will provide the necessary support.
