Denmark is set to enhance its support for Ethiopia's Market-Oriented Cluster otherwise called Kuta Getem Agriculture Development Program, following a productive discussion between Minister of Agriculture Girma Amente (PhD) and Danish Ambassador Sun Krogstrap.
This partnership aims to bolster agricultural transformation in Ethiopia, with a focus on market-oriented practices that empower local farmers.
The first phase of the program, backed by the Danish Government through the Agricultural Transformation Institute, successfully spanned regions including Tigray, Amhara, Oromia, Sidama, and others.
Minister Girma expressed gratitude for Denmark's contributions, noting significant advancements in agricultural productivity and market access during this initial phase.
Ambassador Krogstrap affirmed that tangible improvements have been observed in the targeted regions and assured that Denmark's support will intensify during the second phase. Notably, this upcoming phase will expand to include the Benishangul Gumuz and Somali regions, further broadening the program's impact.
Both parties have reached a mutual understanding on future collaborative efforts, signaling a strong commitment to advancing Ethiopia's agricultural sector and enhancing food security, according to the Ministry.
