Protecting Nation’s Land Ensures Food Security, Says DPM

Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh emphasized the critical link between land stewardship and life security during a recent address.

"Taking care of the land is not just an obligation; it is a special gift that ensures our freedom to be self-sufficient in food," he stated passionately.

His remarks came as part of an initiative focused on environmental conservation in the Amhara Region, specifically within the South Wollo Zone, encompassing Argoba Special Woreda, Kalu, Dessie, and Gambo Woredas.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted ongoing efforts to protect natural resources, which include extensive tree planting and sustainable land management practices.

These initiatives aim to combat soil erosion, improve agricultural productivity, and enhance the overall resilience of local communities against climate change, according to him.

In his message shared on social media, Temesgen expressed gratitude to all stakeholders involved in these vital activities, underscoring the collaborative spirit necessary for successful environmental stewardship.

By prioritizing land care, he urged citizens to recognize their role in fostering a sustainable future, ultimately ensuring food security for generations to come.
