Ethiopia and Argentina have reached an agreement to further strengthen their cooperation in the aviation sector.
Argentine Ambassador to Ethiopia Juan Ignacio Roccatagliata visited the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority.
He held discussions with the Director General of the Authority, Getachew Mengiste.
They exchanged views on accelerating the process of finalizing the full signature of the air services agreement, which was concluded at the preliminary signing stage during negotiations held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a month ago.
The two also discussed with “FAdeA”, a company engaged in aircraft manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering in Argentina, the possibility of opening a branch in Addis Ababa with a focus on Africa, and the possibility of supporting the authority.
Both sides agreed to make their best efforts to complete the air services agreement, which is currently in the early stages of signing, to the signing stage.
According to information received from the authority, an agreement has been reached to facilitate a discussion forum with relevant parties to determine the conditions for the opening of a branch in Ethiopia by the Argentine aircraft manufacturer and maintenance company “FAdeA”.
