Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gideon Timothewos (PhD) and Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat have convened to discuss bolstering economic cooperation, trade, and investment between their nations.
During their meeting, Foreign Minister Gideon Timothewos highlighted Ethiopia's ongoing comprehensive economic reforms, emphasizing the attractive investment landscape being created. He pointed to promising opportunities in technology-driven businesses, agriculture, water management, renewable energy, and manufacturing, all sectors now offering favorable conditions for Israeli investors. The Foreign Minister also detailed Ethiopia's proactive measures to improve its business environment and actively court foreign investment.
Israeli Minister Nir Barkat responded with enthusiasm, affirming Israel's commitment to mutually beneficial collaboration with Ethiopia. He pledged to encourage Israeli businesses to actively participate in and contribute to Ethiopia's economic expansion.
Both ministers expressed a shared desire to deepen economic and trade relations, agreeing to explore new avenues for partnership. Their discussions also encompassed strategies to strengthen collaborations that foster sustainable development, facilitate knowledge transfer, and promote shared prosperity for both nations, according to a ministry statement.
