The Addis Ababa City Peace and Security Administration Bureau has launched a state-of-the-art call center to directly address the peace and security concerns of its residents. This groundbreaking initiative introduces ten cutting-edge technologies designed to revolutionize communication between the Bureau and the public. Citizens can now easily share suggestions and report neighborhood issues through streamlined channels.
At the heart of this program is the toll-free hotline, 8882, enabling residents to report security threats and request assistance without charge. Complementing the call center, the Bureau has also launched an accessible website and a user-friendly citizen participation app, promoting greater transparency and civic engagement. Further technological advancements include asset management tools and video conferencing to significantly improve response times and enhance service delivery.
Bureau Head, Lydia Girma, underscored the critical role of public involvement in safeguarding peace and security. She emphasized that Addis Ababa's stability is rooted in years of collaborative efforts, and this new initiative represents a major leap forward in creating a safer and more interconnected city for all.
