The National Rehabilitation Commission (NRC) announced today that 17,400 former combatants have successfully reintegrated into civilian life after completing rehabilitation training.
NRC Commissioner Temesgen Tilahun highlighted the steady progress of reintegration efforts and emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration with the Tigray, Amhara, Oromia, and Afar regions.
While expressing optimism about government and donor support, Tilahun also acknowledged challenges, including delays in maintaining rehabilitation centers, resource constraints, and the complex political landscape in some areas.
The NRC stated that this reintegration process, which began on November 21, 2024, is vital for building lasting peace in the regions, reported FBC.
