Ethiopia is bolstering its security arrangements for the upcoming 38th African Union Summit, equipping itself with modern tools and technologies to ensure a successful event.
This commitment was underscored by Ethiopian Federal Police Commissioner General Demelash G/Michael during a joint seminar organized by the Ethiopian Federal Police and the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia.
The seminar focused on experience sharing and training for securing major events, with a particular emphasis on the AU Summit.
Commissioner General Demelash emphasized the importance of the seminar in preparing for the summit, stating that it would be instrumental in ensuring strict security and adherence to protocol.
He highlighted the timeliness and necessity of such training to enhance the strategic and practical leadership capacity of Ethiopian law enforcement institutions. The Commissioner General stressed the value of international collaboration in preparing for such a significant event.
Commissioner Demelash also acknowledged the strong and growing strategic partnership between Ethiopia and China, noting that diplomatic relations have evolved into a robust bond in recent years.
He specifically pointed to the strengthening police-to-police relations and cooperation between the two nations, highlighting the mutual benefits of this collaboration in enhancing security practices and expertise.
