The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has announced that its total deposits have exceeded 1.4 trillion Birr.
The bank reports that it collected 58.3% of the nationwide deposits collected in the first half of the year. CBE is currently reviewing its performance for the first six months of the 2017 budget year.
During this period, the bank collected 245.9 billion Birr in deposits, bringing its total deposits to over 1.4 trillion Birr. This represents 147.6% of its target.
The bank attributes this success to the strong customer relationships and improved service quality. The CBE statement indicates that this achievement will help the bank fulfill its significant responsibility in driving Ethiopia's economic growth.
