22 Addis Ababa Health Centers Now Offer Palliative Care Services

The Addis Ababa Health Office announced that palliative care services, aimed at reducing suffering from incurable diseases, are being provided at 22 health centers.

According to the Deputy Head of the Office, Dr. Mulugeta Endalew, services to reduce suffering caused by medically incurable diseases have been provided in health facilities since last year. This involves linking 22 health centers with hospitals to ensure citizens receive services in hospitals, at home, or through home visits, as reported by FBC.

He indicated that the sector's procedures are being continuously monitored and evaluated, and that accompanying psychological counseling services are also being provided. He also explained that they are working to increase the number of health facilities providing this care, taking into account the number of service seekers.
