Addis Ababa Mayor Shares Christmas Meal with Vulnerable Citizens

Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie has shared a meal with low-income and vulnerable members of society to celebrate Christmas. She stated that the city administration will continue to strengthen efforts to alleviate the cost of living for residents. She highlighted ongoing support programs for those facing various social challenges, living in poverty, and those with disabilities.

She emphasized the importance of celebrating Christmas with these segments of the population and fostering a culture of mutual support. Mayor Adanech also thanked the private sector for their contributions to human-centered initiatives that improve the lives of vulnerable people in the city.

The Commissioner of the Addis Ababa Social Participation and Volunteerism Coordination Commission, Yimer Kebede, reported that a Christmas meal program aiming to provide food for 400,000 low-income and vulnerable citizens is underway.
