The birth of Jesus Christ is being celebrated in the historic town of Lalibela with a magnificent Beza Kulu (a specific liturgical ceremony) service. This Beza Kulu service, marking the birth of Jesus Christ, is currently underway in the historic town of Lalibela.
The celebration includes the participation of His Eminence Abune Ermias, the Metropolitan of Northern Wollo, other high-ranking clergy, honored guests, domestic and international tourists, and a large number of worshippers.
EANA (Ethiopian News Agency) reported that the Christmas hymns, songs, and mass, which began last night, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, have concluded, and the Beza Kulu ceremony is now taking place.
Christmas, celebrated annually in Lalibela with a grand religious ceremony, is also known for its significance as a tourist destination, beyond its religious importance.
