The Africa Prosperity Network (APN) and the Canada-Africa Chamber of Business have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen economic ties between Africa and Canada. The signing took place at a reception hosted by the Canadian Embassy in Abidjan, ahead of the Africa CEO Forum.
Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, Founder and Chair of APN, and Paula Caldwell St-Onge, Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, formalised the agreement, with Canada’s Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire, H.E. Anderson Blanc, in attendance.
Otchere-Darko emphasised Africa’s growing middle class and its potential to contribute to Canada's trade diversification strategy, urging a stronger Canadian focus on Africa. St-Onge highlighted the practical benefits of the MoU, which includes reciprocal programmes and new collaborative initiatives to boost trade and investment.
Ambassador Blanc praised the partnership as a model of private sector leadership that supports diplomatic efforts for sustainable economic development between Canada and Africa.
