A launch and awareness-raising platform for the Fayda Digital ID registration campaign for private educational institutions has been held.
The National ID Program, in collaboration with the Addis Ababa City Administration Civil Registration and Residency Service Agency (Addis Ababa CRRSA) and the Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau, emphasized the need for community organizations in private educational institutions within the city administration to register for the Fayda Digital ID and to conduct awareness-raising activities in the sector.
Yodahe Arayaselase, Coordinator of the National ID Program (National ID Ethiopia), stated that the Fayda Digital ID plays a crucial role in ensuring that students' educational information is integrated and reliable from the outset. This, he explained, will reduce inaccurate educational data, ensure a duplicate-free process, and facilitate easy access to student information.
Yonas Alemayehu, Director General of the Addis Ababa CRRSA, stated that working collaboratively with the education community will be crucial for the success of the program, adding that Fayda Digital ID registration will be a prerequisite for student enrollment in the 2018 academic year.
Dr. Zelalem Mulatu, Head of the Addis Ababa Education Bureau, noted that completing digital ID registration will significantly enhance the implementation of the upcoming e-school application for private educational institutions, a key step in digitizing education. He mentioned that Fayda registration is already underway in public schools and urged private schools to prepare accordingly for their registration.
The platform included a presentation on the Fayda Digital ID, and representatives from each institution answered questions from participants.
