Prime minister Abiy Ahmed underlined the significance of seizing the moment to ensure a brighter future for coming generations.
“Yesterday may be gone, but today is drawing to a close, and tomorrow remains untapped. To seize the opportunities of tomorrow, we must work today,” Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed emphasized in his message commemorating the “Day of the Future.”
Ethiopia has observed the thirteenth Month of Pagume, which honors the country's year-end transition, with a range of themes. As a result, a number of events are planned to honor the "Day of the Future" on September 10, 2024, which is also known as Pagume 5 in the Ethiopian calendar.
In his statement about the occasion, PM Abiy emphasized on social media that various major projects and national programs currently in progress are establishing a foundation for the country's future, ensuring prosperity for future generations.
The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), roads, dams, and city corridor development projects are a few examples of these massive undertakings. Other national initiatives and programs include Dine for Nation, Dine for Generation, Green Legacy, "Made in Ethiopia," "Bounty of the Basket," "Digital Ethiopia 2025," school feeding, national dialogue, and transitional justice.//
