Ethiopia Encourages Chinese Investment at Beijing Business Forum

The Ethiopian government has reiterated its commitment to supporting Chinese businesses investing in the country during the Ethio-China Business Forum held in Beijing. The event, hosted by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attracted over 450 Chinese enterprises.

Ethiopian Foreign Minister, Ambassador Taye Atskeselassie, addressing the forum's opening ceremony, highlighted the advanced level of friendship between Ethiopia and China. He invited Chinese companies to explore the numerous investment opportunities across Ethiopia, assuring them of the government's readiness to provide reliable assistance and support.

The Ethiopian delegation, including Finance Minister Ahmed Shide, Innovation and Technology Minister Belete Molla (PhD), and Deputy Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Zeleke Temesgen (PhD), presented sector-specific investment opportunities and supportive factors to the Chinese business community.

During the event, which also featured a signing ceremony, the ministers urged Chinese entrepreneurs to capitalize on the favorable conditions for investment in Ethiopia. They emphasized the potential for further deepening economic ties between the two nations.

This forum underscores Ethiopia's ongoing efforts to attract foreign direct investment and strengthen its economic partnership with China, one of its key trade and development partners. The high-level representation from the Ethiopian government signals the country's seriousness in facilitating Chinese investment across various sectors of its economy.
