Ethiopia is set to unveil a comprehensive 10-year tourism master plan for East Africa, the Ministry of Tourism has announced.

The Ministry revealed that World Tourism Day will be celebrated in Ethiopia from September 17 to 19, 2024, with a series of events planned to mark the occasion.

In collaboration with the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the Ministry will host various programs at the Adwa Memorial Museum in Addis Ababa. IGAD member states will have the opportunity to showcase their tourism potential during the event. Ethiopia will also use this platform to present its 10-year tourism master plan for the East African region.

More than 100 delegates, including tourism ministers from IGAD member countries, are expected to participate in the World Tourism Day celebrations.
