Ethiopian Dialogue Commission Seeks Unified Effort to Launch Tigray Consultations

The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) is calling for integrated cooperation to kickstart the crucial agenda-setting consultation phase in the Tigray region. The appeal comes as the commission intensifies efforts to ensure an inclusive and participatory national dialogue.

In a recent press briefing, ENDC Spokesperson Tibebu Tadesse underscored the vital need for a unified approach to fully initiate discussions in Tigray. "The Commission is making various efforts to launch the dialogue, and these efforts will continue to be strengthened," Ato Tibebu stated, urging all relevant stakeholders to cooperate.

Beyond Tigray, the ENDC is actively working to engage a broad spectrum of participants in the dialogue process. This includes various political parties, armed groups, and even prisoners, aiming for a truly comprehensive conversation. The commission is also reaching out to political parties that have either paused their participation or are currently unwilling to join, striving to bring everyone to the table.

Looking ahead, the ENDC announced it has begun the important task of preparing the procedural framework that will guide the upcoming dialogue conference, laying the groundwork for a structured and productive national discussion.
