The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Ambassador Taye Atske-Selassie received Ambassador Mike Hammer, US Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, at his office yesterday
The two sides deliberated on peace and security issues in the Horn of Africa.
The Foreign Minister stressed Ethiopia’s concerns about the post-ATMIS arrangement, and Ethiopia’s continued efforts to de-escalate tension in the region, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.
They also discussed the current situation in the Tigray region. Ambassador Taye expressed Ethiopia’s commitment to fully implementing the Pretoria Peace Agreement.
Ambassador Taye further called for reinstating Ethiopia’s status in the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
