The much-anticipated regional consultation phase has commenced in Addis Ababa, marking the beginning of a crucial series of events. Scheduled over seven consecutive days, the commission has outlined four major events to unfold in the Ethiopian capital.
The proceedings kick off on May 29, 2024, with over 2500 representatives and stakeholders gathering at the newly constructed Adwa Museum in central Addis Ababa. Throughout the morning, attendees will be welcomed, setting the stage for the subsequent activities. In the afternoon, until May 31, representatives from the Woreda level will convene to collect agendas and nominate representatives for the next phase of the regional dialogue.
June 1st, 2024, will witness the grand inauguration of the regional consultation phase at the Adwa Museum, signifying a pivotal moment in the process.
From June 2nd to 3rd, stakeholders will engage in intensive analysis and agenda-setting activities, preparing for the culmination of the regional dialogue.
Finally, on June 4th, Addis Ababa will host the regional dialogue, where consensus will be reached on a unified set of agenda items and representatives will be nominated for the forthcoming nationwide dialogue.
