Government Places Special Attention on Innovation, Says Deputy PM

The Innovation Africa 2025 Conference, organized by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, and the Ministry of Labor and Skills in collaboration with' Africa Brain's, kicked off in Addis Ababa on Monday.

In his opening remark, Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Temesgen Tiruneh, said that education, technology, and skills are very important to build the next generation.

He expressed his belief that this conference will have a meaningful and practical discussion.

The Deputy PM also said that the Ethiopian government is working with a special focus on education and skills, improving school construction and infrastructure, building digital networks, and innovation and skills.

He also conveyed a message that let's work together to bring about the desired change in this regard, as in Africa.

Education Minister Berhanu Nega (Prof.), on his part, said, “The current global situation is very complex, so it is expected to equip the next generation and youth with education, technology, and skills.”

Birehanu said that this conference on education, technology, and skills should be the foundation for Africa’s transformation.

The education minister also said that important agendas related to education, ICT, and skills will be presented and discussed at the conference.

The Education, Technology, and Skills Conference is being attended by ministers and delegations from African countries, various international education partners, and private sector investors.
