The industrial and investment sector is believed to lay a strong foundation for the country's growth and prosperity, not only by creating job opportunities for citizens but also by achieving significant results in substituting imported goods.
It has been stated that, following the national reforms, the Afar regional government is working with focus to bring about significant change in the industry and investment sector by setting direction and creating a conducive environment, with the aim of making the Afar region an investment hub.
According to information from the Office of the Head of the Regional Government, to make this plan successful, Head of State Haji Awol Arba has been consulting with residents of the region, as well as domestic and foreign investors, and has invited them to work in the region.
Following this, many factories are currently under construction in the region, and it has been learned that some of these have reached the production stage and have begun operations.
The region possesses fertile land that yields what is planted and is close to ports, facilitating easy export of products. For this reason, it has become a region preferred by many for investment.
