The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, has held talks today in Djibouti with the new Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mohamed Ali Yousif.
Dr. Gebeyehu commended the new Chairperson for his commitment and strong leadership in addressing regional challenges during his time as head of the IGAD Council of Ministers and on other occasions. He wished him a successful term in office.
In a message posted on his X account, the Executive Secretary expressed full confidence that IGAD and the African Union will continue to strengthen their joint efforts to promote peace, security, and prosperity in the region and across Africa, ENA learnt.
