The delegation met with Ethiopia's Minister of Peace, Mohamed Idris, to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral relations and fostering greater cooperation between the two nations.
The delegation emphasized Ethiopia's historical significance and its wealth of experience in managing diversity, particularly highlighting the harmonious collaboration among religious communities for mutual peace and benefit.
They expressed a keen interest in learning from Ethiopia's approach to governance and societal cohesion.
Minister Mohammed elaborated on Ethiopia's constitutional framework, which guarantees equality and justice for all religions and beliefs.
He underscored that the establishment of an impartial government service system has been instrumental in fostering peaceful relations and preventing bias based on religious affiliation.
During the discussion, the Mohammed VI Foundation, which currently operates in 48 African countries, formally requested to establish a branch in Ethiopia.
The Foundation aims to promote Islamic values of peace, tolerance, and understanding through its educational and cultural initiatives.
Minister Mohammed assured the delegation that the Ministry of Peace would carefully review the request and provide a response in due course, according to official sources.
