Trump Vows Largest Deportation in U.S. History on Inauguration Eve

President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in Monday as the 47th US president for a second term. 

Ahead of the official presidential inauguration, Trump staged Sunday a campaign-style rally in frigid Washington where he and his supporters celebrated his win. 

"The American people have given us their trust, and in return, we're going to give them the best first day, the biggest first week and the most extraordinary first 100 days of any presidency in American history,” trump said. 

According to Reuters, Trump told thousands of his supporters onstage at the Capital One Arena in downtown Washington, D.C he would impose harsh limits on immigration on his first day in office, vowing to swiftly fulfill the central pledge of his presidential campaign at the rally.  

"By the time the sun sets tomorrow, the invasion of our country will have come to a halt," he said to cheers at a "Make America Great Again Victory Rally" at the Capital One Arena. 

The launch of the largest deportation effort in U.S. history is expected to remove millions of immigrants.   

Whilst, the presidential inauguration of the 47th US president, which is traditionally held outside the US Capitol, has been moved indoors due to a forecast of frigid temperatures as low as -11C. 

Several US-based media houses reported that following the oath of office, Trump will address the nation before he is expected to parade across town to the White House and attend three inaugural balls in the evening

About 200,000 supporters are expected to visit the city to mark the Monday’s transfer of power. 

As he promised during Sunday’s rally, Trump is expected to sign a torrent of executive orders on his first day of his second term in office.
