Ethiopia has been recognized at the 2025 Kofi Annan Road Safety Award for its outstanding progress in the transport sector.
State Minister of Transport and Logistics, Bereo Hassan, who was present at the ceremony to receive the award, stated that this recognition for Ethiopia is a significant example of the efforts made by African countries to improve road safety and modernize their transportation systems.
The State Minister said that this award will be a great encouragement for their continued efforts, and he reaffirmed Ethiopia's commitment to ensuring road safety, according to information obtained from the Public Service Transport Service.

The Kofi Annan Road Safety Award is an annual recognition given to countries, organizations, and individuals who have made significant contributions to ensuring road safety and reducing traffic accidents in Africa.
The award is named after the former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan to commemorate the former diplomat's significant contribution to preventing road accidents.
