Ethiopia, Iran Explore Manufacturing Cooperation Opportunities

Ethiopia's Minister of Industry, Melaku Alebel, has met with Iranian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ali Akbar Rezel, to discuss potential cooperation in the manufacturing sector.

The talks highlighted the strong bilateral relations between the two nations and focused on strategies to attract investments and enhance technological collaboration in manufacturing.

Minister Melaku emphasized the importance of fostering partnerships that could lead to shared economic growth and development.

He noted that both countries stand to benefit from joint ventures that leverage their respective strengths in manufacturing capabilities. The discussions also touched upon the need for an executive roadmap to facilitate these cooperative efforts.

For his part, Ambassador Rezel extended a formal invitation to Minister Melaku to participate in the upcoming "Third Iran-Africa Economic Conference," scheduled to take place in Tehran from April 19 to 23, 2017. This conference is expected to gather ministers of economy and trade, along with representatives from both the public and private sectors, providing a platform for further dialogue on investment opportunities.

The meeting was characterized as a fruitful exchange of ideas aimed at elevating bilateral cooperation to new heights.

According to the information from the Ministry, with the backdrop of a growing interest in enhancing economic ties, both Ethiopia and Iran are poised to explore innovative avenues for collaboration in the manufacturing industry, potentially leading to mutual benefits and increased trade.
