Ethiopian Tourism Minister, Selamawit Kassa, has called for employment of purposeful, structured and data-based approch to harness the golden opportunity provided by the government for sector's development.
The minister said this during the closing session of the two-day Tourism Sector 2017 Sector Plan Implementation Review Conference.
Since the tourism sector is a sector where we work with a sense of responsibility, we should prioritize cooperation and learn from each other and carry out tasks, Selamawit said.
Minister Selamawit also said that the remaining working periods of the budget year should focus on strengthening the implementation capacity, completing the ongoing tourism policy review.
"We will focus on developing various destination projects; laying the foundation for stopover tourism; strengthening marketing and promotion activities, and promoting our country's tourism resources by utilizing diplomatic opportunities," Selamawit said, as she spoke on future working directions.
The two-day conference in Adama City, which brought together government and private sector actors in the tourism sector, was concluded.
