The airline is directing all domestic passengers to use the international terminal for departures.

The incident occurred today at approximately 12:30 PM in the domestic passenger terminal's temporary storage area for confiscated cigarette lighters, according to a statement released by the airline.

The suspension is a precautionary measure taken to ensure passenger safety.

Domestic passengers traveling today are advised to proceed to the international passenger handling terminal to board their flights.

Ethiopian Airlines has apologized to its passengers for any inconvenience caused by this disruption.

Normal domestic terminal operations are expected to resume tomorrow, February 6, 2025.
