Smart Traffic System Saves Addis Ababa 17 Million Birr in Printing Costs

Addis Ababa's traffic management authority has announced the transition of its traffic control and parking administration system from manual to digital. The authority, in collaboration with software developer Infra Tech, has launched a new system allowing drivers to pay traffic fines and parking fees digitally.

According to Kebebew Mideksa, Director General of the Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority, this digital system eliminates the inconvenience of manual payment and saves over 17 million Birr annually in printing costs previously associated with paper-based receipts.

AMN repored that the launch event was attended by Deputy Mayor and Head of the Public Service Bureau, Dr. Jemalu Jember, Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics, Berho Hassan, and the Head of the Addis Ababa City Administration Transport Bureau, Yabbal Addis.
