Ethiopia embarked on Home grown economic reform this year as a result of its booming economy and fastest growing nation in Africa. This booming economy needs high quality products, value added and fair price which eventually led it to be competitive in global market.
The Quality village officially inaugurated on 23 November 2024 by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed shows the pave Ethiopia is taking. The Quality village is not only Achilles hill for quality products but also best showcase to keep momentum for the reform to be more effective. It will play pivotal role both for import substitution and exporting quality products.
On the inaugural ceremony the Prime Minister said: “This critical institution is designed to catalyze the competitiveness of our local products in global markets and enhance our participation in global value chains. As one of our leading national institutions, it will play a vital role in strengthening our export capabilities and ensuring we remain competitive in the international arena.”
Indeed the Economic reform which is in place creates job opportunity for citizens besides collecting tax where generating domestic revenue for the state is critical. Les industrialized states imports less quality products because of their economy. Ethiopia, as the fastest growing nation, will import and export quality products on the basis of demand.
