Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has declared that Ethiopia is entering a new era of national renaissance, marked by unprecedented achievements and a commitment to building a brighter future for generations to come.
He highlighted the remarkable progress made over the past six years, despite ongoing challenges, attributing it to the success of the "Ethiopia Tamrt" movement and the comprehensive reform process that began with reconciliation efforts. This reform is now transitioning to a focus on economic revitalization, with a projected 12.8% growth in the industrial sector this fiscal year.
PM Abiy emphasized the government's commitment to addressing challenges in the manufacturing sector, aiming for sustainable growth and increased productivity. This commitment is evident in the launch of 72 large-scale projects in various industries, including textiles, food and beverage, construction, and chemicals, which will contribute to the sector's expansion.
But the Prime Minister's vision extends beyond economic growth. He announced plans for a new, massive airport in Ethiopia, designed to handle up to 130 million passengers annually, making it the largest in Africa. This ambitious project, located 40 kilometers from Bole International Airport, will be connected by rail and is a testament to the growth of Ethiopian Airlines, already the largest airline in Africa. The airline's recent order for 124 new aircraft will further solidify its global competitiveness, making it a leader in both air travel and airport infrastructure.
PM Abiy's vision for Ethiopia's renaissance is one of bold ambition, focused on economic growth, infrastructure development, and a commitment to building a brighter future for all Ethiopians.
