Strengthening Ties: Ethiopia, China Deepen Their Partnership

A high-level meeting between Ethiopia's Prosperity Party and China's People's Council has highlighted the strong and growing bond between the two nations.

Adem Farah, Vice President of the Prosperity Party and its General Secretary, met with Li Hongzhong, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Council, during a recent official visit to China. 

Farah emphasized the deep and multifaceted relationship between Ethiopia and China, built on trust and mutual benefit. He highlighted the remarkable progress in their partnership, noting that China is now Ethiopia's top source of foreign investment, skilled workers, and contracts.

"Our relationship is flourishing," Adem stated, "and we are reaping the rewards of this collaboration." He pointed to the significant infrastructure projects, low-interest loans, and technology transfer that are transforming Ethiopia.

He also shared Ethiopia's impressive achievements in recent years, including the remarkable Green Footprint initiative, which has seen billions of trees planted in just six years.

Li Hongzhong echoed Adem's sentiments, emphasizing the continuous growth in cooperation between the two countries. "Since our relationship began, both our nations and our people have worked together to achieve great things," he said. "We have reached a new level of partnership."

This meeting underscores the strong and mutually beneficial relationship between Ethiopia and China, a partnership that continues to drive progress and prosperity for both nations.
