Sheikh Haji Ibrahim Tufa, president of the Supreme Council of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs, said that it is the responsibility of all citizens to maintain peace so that the government can secure holistic development.
The President of the Supreme Council stated that the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission should be supported as it provides a lasting solution to our country's problems.
A National Peace, Solidarity and Brotherhood Conference were held in Kombolcha city with the theme "Our unity for our peace".
Sheikh Haji Ibrahim Tufa, president of the Supreme Council of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs, said that it should be the responsibility of all of us to stand by the government and maintain peace so that the government of change can bring about the all inclusive development .
The president said that the Muslim people should maintain their unity and strengthen peace. He said that it should be respected and integrated with other faiths to maintain peace and punish the violators.
He urged religious institutions to condemn division, hatred and conflict and to play their role in coordinating their followers for peace, unity and development.
He pointed out that the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission will provide a lasting solution to our country's problems.He also mentioned that it is necessary to support their activities, provide resources, participate and help in any matter, according to ENA.
On his part, the Deputy President of Amhara Region, Abdu Hussien, said that in order to maintain lasting peace in the region, all faiths must maintain their unity and work for peace and development
