Water Ministers from Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) member states are meeting in Jigjiga, the capital of Ethiopia’s Somali Region. on water-related matters.
Ethiopian Minister of Water and Energy, Habtamu Itefa (PhD), along with his counterparts from Kenya, South Sudan, Uganda, and Djibouti are attending the meeting.
The meeting will also be attended by representatives from UNICEF and other partner organizations
Ethiopian Ministry of water and Energy announced that the ministerial meeting will focus on the utilization of cross-border groundwater resources and to launch the ground water access facility.
